This Privacy Policy explains how Anders Jakobsson ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Farang Food Finder app and website (the "Service"). Anders Jakobsson is the data controller responsible for your personal data under this Policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password hash.
  • Payment information. When you purchase the one-time premium unlock, our payment processor Stripe handles your payment. We receive a confirmation and a payment reference, but we do not see or store your card details.
  • Usage data. We may collect basic technical information (device, browser, language, IP address) to keep the Service working and secure.
  • Favorites. If you save items, we store them so you can find them again on any device.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide and improve the Service.
  • To process your one-time premium unlock and grant you access.
  • To respond to support requests sent to jakobssonandersasse@gmail.com.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse.

3. Legal basis for processing

  • Contract performance — to create your account, deliver premium features, and fulfil your purchase.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product.
  • Legal obligation — to keep records required by tax, accounting and consumer law.
  • Consent — where you have given it, for example for optional communications.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of recipients, who are bound by contract to protect your data:

  • Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Stripe) — our payment processor. Stripe processes your card payment, calculates applicable taxes, issues receipts, and handles disputes. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Hosting and database providers — to run the Service infrastructure.
  • Email providers — to send transactional emails such as account confirmations and support replies.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law.

5. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest for our database, hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and row-level security policies that prevent users from accessing each other's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to notify you promptly of any incident that affects you.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or request data portability at any time by emailing jakobssonandersasse@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to keep records for legal or tax reasons.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or in-app. Continued use of the Service after the changes means you accept the new Policy.
